For Audrey, cake was a special way to “match” her beloved sister, Ava, one more time.

Despite Audrey’s bone marrow donation, Ava was unable to defeat the cancer she had been fighting for years. Audrey’s cake was a precious reminder of the bond she’ll always have with her big sister.

“We had a fantastic experience. Communication was amazing and Ashley did an amazing job with the cake, it tasted and looked fantastic. Breck was born with congenital heart defects. At 1 month old he had his first open-heart surgeries and he now has had 5 open-heart surgeries to date. He is a happy and wild 4 year old.”

“My daughter Ellie turned 6 on April 29th. In the past year, she has become obsessed with penguins and wanted to have a penguin themed birthday party. She dressed up as a zookeeper, wearing the same attire as our local zoo staff does. Our baker Wendy went above and beyond to create a penguin cake of Ellie’s dreams. Wendy heard that Ellie’s favorite species of penguin is the Humbolt and set out to create a near life-size replica, all the way down to the markings on the penguin’s chest, which is how the zookeepers distinguish who is who. Ellie’s birthday party was truly magnificent–she played with her friends, ate the delicious cake, and then took everyone to the zoo to show them real live Humbolts!”

“Emily so deserved this wonderful birthday surprise! Last year she had to celebrate her 14th birthday in the hospital when her younger brother was diagnosed with leukemia just a few days earlier. This year we did it up right for her. Thank you for making her day amazing!!”

With a 3-foot-tall cake lovingly crafted by Sugar Angel Mike Elder, Icing Smiles helped make Jaden’s last day on earth a sweet celebration.

“Kailyn was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, treatment consisted of a year of chemotherapy and surgery to remove the tumor. Throughout it all Kailyn kept an upbeat attitude and fought like a true hero. It took almost a year of recovery but Kailyn was able to celebrate her birthday cancer-free with all of her friends and an amazing cake from Icing Smiles!”

As an Icing Smiles Sugar Angel, Sheri honors the memory of her daughter, Sarah, who was diagnosed with cancer at just 10 years old and passed away six years later.
