This March, he celebrated the anniversary of his third heart surgery with a beautiful Toy Story cake. 

Charlie was born at 33 weeks with serious congenital heart disease (CHD): a double outlet right ventricle with a straddling mitral valve. Charlie’s care plan was for three surgeries over the span of four years. However, this timeline quickly shortened due to his premature birth and lung complications and Charlie underwent all three surgeries earlier than planned.

In addition to three heart surgeries, Charlie has had two heart catheterizations and over one hundred doctor’s appointments. He is a courageous young boy who has succeeded in a tremendous feat. His Icing Smile cake provides a happy circumstance to educate Charlie and others about his rare and complex heart condition. There is no cure for Congenital Heart Disease but he is surrounded by immense love and support.

Like Woody and Buzz Lightyear, he will not be alone in his journey!
