Meet Sugar Angel Anne Cantera with Canteras Cake Creations in Sayville, NY

“I have been waiting forever to do an Alice in Wonderland themed cake, especially one where I had total artistic freedom,” Anne said. Her dreams finally came true when Icing Smiles contacted her to design a dream cake for Madison’s 13th birthday! “I couldn’t wait for them to call on me. I was thrilled when they did.”

Madison was diagnosed with CML at the age of 7 on March 22, 2010. She has been taking oral chemotherapy for over five years and is responding well despite having a long road ahead of her. She loves ballet dancing and is a great big sister to Sophia. She’s also a very intelligent young lady and a true shining star, always making the Principal’s List.

When asked how she came up with such an elaborate design for Madison Anne said, “My plan was to incorporate every iconic feature/element that I could. Then I just did a sketch and made it happen.” She also said volunteering for Icing Smiles makes her feel SO good. She donates cakes because giving to families that have experienced a tough time is a no-brainer for her. She adores every moment of joy seeing families light up from her creations.

Madison’s mom shares, “Madison LOVED, LOVED, LOVED her beautiful Alice cake! It was more than she ever dreamed possible! She and her sister were so happy! It truly amazes me how generous people are. I am so grateful to everyone at Icing Smiles and the fabulous baker Anne for providing my daughter with such an outstanding cake!”Thank you Anne for bringing a BIG smile to Madison’s face!
