Baking Is A Generational Hobby

Baking Is A Generational Hobby

For Gina, baking is a generational hobby. Her mother grew up in a bakery and baked throughout her childhood. Now Gina bakes and has self-taught various cake designs and techniques, all while sending friends and family lots of yummy treats. Gina is advancing her craft here at Icing Smiles as a Sugar Angel, and has already baked three cakes so far. She is continuing to spread joy with her hobby and states, “it’s wonderful to be a part of a birthday celebration and help create a happy memory for a special child and their family!”

For her latest creation, Gina made a dream birthday cake for Valentino, “Tino.” But it was not just any cake, it was a two-tier Sponge Bob Square Pants themed cake. Gina did not simply do a normal Sponge Bob style cake; she gave Sponge Bob and his best friend, Patrick, cake and ice cream so they could join the party too. For Gina, the challenge of this cake was creating a unique theme with these characters. She did not want them underwater as they typically are. She wanted the theme to be an extension of the celebration and include Tino’s favorite candy M&M’s.
