A Hero Among Us

There are many people in the world who love Superheroes just like Christian. So, when his chance to get an Icing Smiles cake came around, picking the theme for his cake was a no-brainer! Created by our Sugar Angel Alana Cobb, Christian’s cake includes all the best superheroes like Spiderman, Captain America, Hulk, Batman, and if you look closely you can see Christian himself standing among his fellow superhero pals.

But, what you won’t see in these pictures are that in 2014 Christian was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) after experiencing some unexpected leg pain. Christian heroically attended weekly chemo treatments at the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital; where his treatment lasted over the last three years. Though it has been a long journey for the spirited four-year-old and his family, Christian has continued to be a high energy superhero that anyone would be inspired by.

His family was always optimistic throughout his battle with Leukemia and believed he would be in the 95% cure rate for ALL. This past February Christian was excited to complete his last treatment session! To celebrate the end of this chapter in Christian’s life, he received a superhero-themed “end of treatment” party. Everyone dressed up as a superhero and Christian was honored with this superhero themed cake.
