Administrative Spotlight – Kim Hearn
Icing Smiles is more than an organization. We are parents. We are spouses and partners. We are employees. We are friends. We are VOLUNTEERS committed to service and Baking a Difference®. We are not a bakery, as a matter of fact, Icing Smiles doesn’t even have an oven! We rely on a generous team of volunteers spread throughout the U.S. to fulfill our mission.
Today we are featuring our Technology Manager Kim Hearn. See how she is making a difference here at Icing Smiles!
Name: Kim Hearn
Position: Technology Manager
Favorite Song: I have lots of favorites, but the best are the upbeat ones that are good to workout to, a current favorite is HandClap by Fitz & The Tantrums
Favorite Food: Tex-Mex (I grew up in Texas)
Favorite Book: The Outlander Series
Hidden Talent: Irish dancing
Favorite Snack: Anything Chocolate!
Favorite Quote: “Who you are speaks so loudly I can’t hear what your saying” – Emerson
Favorite Memory with Icing Smiles: Since our Admin Team members work remotely my favorite memories are from attending Icing Smiles events where I can be with other team members in person. Attending a Buttercream Ball where I can spend time with other team members or working a booth spreading the mission of Icing Smiles are great memories!
Kim is our Technology Manager as well as one of our trainers. Kim lives with her husband and two boys Colin (age 13) and Daniel (age 10) in Langhorne, PA (near Philadelphia). Kim joined Icing Smiles in 2013 helping with the Technology Team and Eligibility before moving into the Technology Manger Position. Before joining Icing Smiles, Kim was a Product Manager for a software company where she also worked as a consultant and a trainer. Kim graduated Penn State with Tracy Quisenberry with a degree in Supply Chain Management and International Business. Kim is excited to find new ways to leverage her technology skills to support Icing Smiles in our Mission. By implementing some of the latest web-based solutions, Kim can make the most of a dedicated and large volunteer team.
