Meet Icing Smiles Student Ambassador, Daniel Corpuz

Susan E. Wagner High School senior and Icing Smiles Sugar Angel, Daniel Corpuz, has been named Student Ambassador for Icing Smiles and will lead student organizations in New York State as well as across the country bringing awareness to our mission.

Daniel serves at Susan E. Wagner High School as President of the National Honor Society, Captain of the school’s Filipino Club and Vice President of the school’s KEY Club. In addition to his achievements in education, Daniel is also the owner of One Baker’s Cakes by Daniel Corpuz in Staten Island, NY.

Since beginning cake decorating five years ago, Daniel has won numerous awards in both the teen and semi-professional divisions in several cake shows. Combining his love for cake decorating and his deep involvement with the New York District KEY Club, we feel Daniel will be a tremendous asset to the growth of the organization.DanielCake1 His passion for our mission and his incredible work ethic have made such an impact already! In his four years as a Sugar Angel Daniel has created five amazing cakes for Icing Smiles families resulting in countless smiles and memories.

Using the KEY Club as a platform, Daniel will bring the Icing Smiles mission to students eager to get involved in a worthwhile cause. We have many student groups across the country ready to participate. We feel Daniel will be an excellent leader for these groups over the next several years and help lead the future generations of Icing Smiles.

DanielCake2Daniels’ first Icing Smiles cakes for 3-year-old siblings impacted his life forever. The twins’ sister had been battling leukemia. Like so many of the Icing Smiles’ families, because of hospitalizations and other struggles, these siblings had never truly been able to celebrate their birthdays like other kids.

Daniel remembers delivering a Batman cake and an Frozen themed cake to the twins. “I will always remember how their faces lit up when I took the cakes out of the box. It was at that moment that I realized this is why I am a part of this organization. All of us have the opportunity to use our strengths, our talents to help those less fortunate. Through Icing Smiles we are able to help children dealing with critical illness.”

Thank you, Daniel, for all you do for Icing Smiles!
