Sky’s the Limit

At the age of two, Ryan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in November 2012. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, also known as ALL, is a type of cancer that affects white blood cells. After he was diagnosed with ALL, chemotherapy, lumbar punctures, transfusions, and constant check-ups became the norm. As a result, Ryan never received the opportunity to officially celebrate any of his birthdays, but, his mother was determined to throw him one of the best birthday parties ever once his situation improved. She definitely did not disappoint!

In collaboration with Icing Smiles, Ryan’s mother made up for lost time and threw him the best birthday party ever to celebrate his 6th birthday. After all, nothing gets better than a Skylanders themed birthday party.

Ryan is a sweet, fun, smart and strong boy who has been through a lot at a very young age. He has the scars to prove his strength, courage, and determination; all of which have never wavered. He fought ALL for three and a half years.

The three and a half years were, without a doubt, long but Ryan finally finished his treatment in March 2016. Ryan’s family and friends have supported him and each other throughout the entire journey and to this day. Although Ryan still has monthly checkups and is still unable to enjoy many things due to allergies, we are all thankful that Ryan beat cancer. Zero points for cancer, one point for Ryan!
